Jean was our neighbor for years and was always a genuinely wonderful person to be around. She always had a smile or a kind word. Even at her age, she was always overflowing with life. I will always remember her fondly as a fiercely independent and strong woman who reminded the newer generation of harder times, encouraging us to live life to the fullest. She would reminisce about life on the farm and share her experiences and wisdom. I always looked forward to seeing her. She was everything right with this area and her generation, and we lost such a bright light in the world with her passing. My deepest condolences to Jennie and the rest of the family. Jean was so proud of each and every one of you and spoke of you all very often. There were so many times that she shared with me how fortunate she felt that she had you all as her family. Her love and pride for you was obvious and inspiring.

I'm met Jean's not long after we moved to Wheelersburg in 1976. She was on her roof stoning her chimney. Several years later she helped my son Jonathan with his Lets Explore the Out of Doors 4H Project. She was always ready to help others. I will miss my friend.
