 Shelia June Allen, 77, of Proctorville, OH, passed away May 17, 2026. She was born April 2, 1949, in Cabell County, WV, daughter of the late Hubert and Goldie Gibson Childers. She was also preceded in death by her husband, D.C. Allen, brother, Dwight Wayne “Bubby” Childers, and sister, Marki Mallory. She is survived by one son, Jason Allen (Melanie) of Madison, WV; two sisters, Sharon Ross (David) of Barboursville and Betty Bates (Darrell) of Barboursville; and granddaughter, Madison Allen. Graveside services will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Green Valley Cemetery, Branchland. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace. |

Dear Sharon and Betty, I am so sorry for you in the loss of your sister Sheila. I worked with her in Dr. Nease's office for eight years. She was always very helpful to me and so friendly with all the patients. I really liked her.

June’s parents and family were close to my parents and family. Times of joy and sorrow were shared by all in the small settlement of Bowen Creek. Her mother was asked to pray at the graveside of my father. The sound of her Appalachian voice rang out among the hills of Green Valley Cemetery that day, making a memorable impression on me. It is a sound that cannot be quelled in my heart, nor do I want it to be. Thank you, God, for this, our sister, June. She is precious to us, like fine gold that lasts forever and forevermore.
