Bernard Jay Ransbottom, 70, of Quincy, died Thursday, June 19, 2003, at his residence.

He was born in Lima on Feb. 2, 1933, a son of the late Bonne Ray Sr. and Lydia Adams Ransbottom. Also preceding him in death were brothers, Bonne Ransbottom Jr., Gail Reprogle, Carl Reprogle and Richard Reprogle; and a sister, Mary Sparks.

On Dec. 23, 1953, he married the former Joan Manning in Raceland, Ky., and she survives, along with son, Randy (Lisa) Ransbottom of DeGraff; daughters, Deb (Keith) Davis of Quincy and Jo Ellen Dunlop of West Liberty; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchildren.

A US Army veteran of the Korean War, he was a member of the Mt.Tabor Church of God and a molder at Con/Met in Sidney.

Pastor Kerry Snapp conducts funeral services at 11 a.m. Monday at Rexer-Riggin-Madden Funeral Home in DeGraff, where friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday. Interment is in Greenwood-Union Cemetery in DeGraff. The Logan County Honor Guard conducts military servics.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Riverside Emergency Medical Squad.
