Passed away peacefully Friday morning, April 16, 2004 at LakeView Continuing Care Center, Lawton. Dorothy was born June 21, 1913 in Dayton, OH the daughter of the late Clarence and Freda (Kofel) Allen. In 1948 in Dayton, Ohio, Dorothy was united in marriage to Vernon Smith who preceded her in death in 1988. Surviving are 3 daughters, Anita (Robert) Lawton of Dayton, OH, Anna Levine of Lincoln, NE and Valerie (Gale) Bottcher of Dunbar, NE; 3 sons, Walter (Ila) Ward of Dayton, OH, Roland (Sandy) Ward of Vandalia, OH and Allen (Jeannie) Smith of Marcellus, MI; 24 Grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Evelyn Ward and Lillian Fletcher of Dayton, OH and Shirley Hypes of Phoenix, AZ. Dorothy took great pleasure in doing things for her family. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
