Joyce, I write this to extend my deepest sympathy to you as you and the boys grieve the loss of Mike in your day to day life. I don't know how that feels, loosing a spouse...loosing the father of your children, but I do know there must be considerable suffering and how that I am so sorry. I didn't even know Mike was ill and think of us all as too young to die. I am going to try and find your phone number; in the meantime, please accept this big Kentucky HUG from me to you.

Joyce and family we are very sad to hear that Mike (Barney) has passed away. We will always remember the good times that we had growing up with him as a big brother figure in our lives. He was a wonderful friend to us growing up always there when we needed him and Jim to come to the rescue. They are together again and I am sure they will keep a close watch over things. Keep in touch. Love the (Carpenter Girls) Cathy Sherry Bobbie and Donna

Brice & Brittany I am sorry to hear about your uncle. When I must leave you for a little while, Please do not grieve and shed wild tears, And hug your sorrow to you through the years, But start out bravely with a gallant smile, And for my sake and in my name live on and do all things the same, Feed not your loneliness on empty days, But fill each waking hour in useful ways, Reach out your hand in comfort, And I in turn will comfort you and hold you near, And never, never be afraid, For I am waiting for you in the sky.
