Homer Oyer Shriver, age 83, of Crown City (Mercerville Community), died Monday morning July 23, 2007 at Holzer Senior Care Center. Born March 13, 1924 in Guyan Township, Gallia County, he was the son of the late Henry and Grace Barry Shriver. Homer was the last of his family and in addition to his parents; he was preceded by 3 brothers, Ogle, Lawrence and John Shriver, and by 3 sisters, Wilma Sheets, Elizabeth Parsons, and Georgia Church.
Homer was a retired farmer, and he enjoyed hunting, and spending time with family and friends. He attended Victory Baptist Church.
He is survived by several Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM. Thursday July 26, 2007 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood funeral Home with Pastor Gary Warner officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6-9 PM.
