Nellie Marie McGuire Watson, age 97, of Gallipolis, died Tuesday January 29, 2008 at Holzer Senior Care Center. Born August 31, 1910 in Bladen, Gallia County, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Roxie Craig McGuire. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Ira E. Watson who she married on May 5, 1927 in Circleville and who preceded her on March 23, 1980. by a son Charles Edward Eddie Watson on Dec. 8, 1991, by three grandsons, two sisters, and four brothers.
Nellie was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ in Christian Union.
She is survived by three children, Walter (Florene) Watson of Gallipolis, Hilda (James) Haner of Gallipolis, and Nellie Mae (William) Curtis of Chillicothe. Twelve grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 11 great great grandchildren. One brother, James Dray of Chillicothe, and one sister, Alice Tripp of Marshfield, Missouri.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM. Saturday February 2, 2008 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood funeral home with Hilda Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in Mina Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 6-9 PM.
Pall bearers will be: Lee ,Timmy, and Jeff Watson, Lyle Shillington, Steve Shearwood, and Byron Welch Jr.
