Paw Paw
Don passed away Thursday evening, April 30, 2009 at Bronson LakeView Hospital, Paw Paw. He was born February 14, 1930 in Allegan, MI the son of the late Lee and Alvina (Freeman) Ross. Don was a veteran of the Korean War and wounded in action serving with the U.S. Marine Corps. Don was employed as an electrician at Duo-Tang Products, loved farming, hunting, the wildlife on his farm and enjoyed being outdoors. He was a member of the Paw Paw-Lawton Lodge # 25 F&AM and when he able was a very active member of the Paw Paw Lions and Paw Paw Elks Lodge. On December 24, 1953 in Dowagiac, Don was united in marriage to Barbara J. Hiler who preceded him in death on July 7, 1984. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Arthur. Surviving are a son, Bob (Lois) Ross of Lawrence; 2 daughters, Julie (Brian) Rumsey of Paw Paw and Cathy (Gary) Esman of Vicksburg; 7 grandchildren; sister, Virginia Owsiany of Paw Paw; 1 niece and 2 nephews. Family will receive friends Sunday 5-7 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw where funeral services will be held Monday, 3 p.m. with Rev. Joe Spackman of the Paw Paw United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Wildey Cemetery, Paw Paw. Memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels or Hospice of Southwest Michigan.

We are so sad to hear of Don's passing, we always enjoyed his gritty humor. Tony worked with Don for many years at DuoTang and learned alot about electrical from him. He will be missed.
