Oren Alger LawhornOren Alger Lawhorn, 84, of Huntington, W. Va., passed away Sunday, January 3, 2010, at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Thursday at the Christ Temple Church on Johnstown Road, Huntington, W. Va., by Pastor Dwight Mays and Pastor Kevin West. Burial will be in Enon Cemetery, Salt Rock, W. Va. He was born November 16, 1925 in Wayne County, W. Va. a son of the late David Franklin Lawhorn, Sr. and Ethel Patton Lawhorn. He was a retired machinist for Ensign Electric, Harvey Hubbel Division. He was a member of Christ Temple Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers Frank and Earl Lawhorn. Surviviors include his wife of 62 years Ruby Justice Lawhorn, two sons and daughters-in-law Roger and Tammy Lawhorn of Lavalette, W. Va., Ronald and Rose Lawhorn of Cincinnati, Ohio, a daughter and son-in-law Linda Mays and Arnold Dwight Mays of Barboursville, W. Va., five grandchildren and spouses Brian and Leann Lawhorn of Barboursville, Anthony Lawhorn of Milton, W. Va., Christopher and Connie Mays of Barboursville, W. Va., Rebecca and Phillip Skeens of Austintown, Ohio, Tammy and Matthew France of Barboursville, W. Va., ten great grandchildren Bethany, Daniel and Hannah Skeens, Amanda, Heather and Cole Mays, Caleb and Anna France, Kyle and Aaron Lawhorn, Three step-grandchildren and their spouses and children Ed and Shelly Foreman and son Steven, Justin and Brianna Frazier and their two daughters Kenzie and Katy, Britany and Michael Thompson and their children Gaige and Brylan, two sisters Tressie Lawhorn and Virginia Fischer both of Huntington, a brother and sister-in-law John and Hester Lawhorn of Barboursville, W. Va. and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday at the Reger Funeral Home, Huntington and after noon Thursday at Christ Temple Church.
