James Woody WilsonJames Woodrow Woody Wilson, 96, of Huntington, widower of Isabella Nancy Robinson Wilson, passed away Thursday January 7, 2010, at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am Tuesday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Rev. Ken Toler. Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. He was born January 27, 1913 in Gary, WV a son of the late Thomas Howard and Goldie Eleanor Brumfield Wilson. He was retired Chief Mechanical Supervisor at the AEP John Amos Plant. He was a longtime member of Pipefitter Local 521 where he had been president and recording secretary for a number of years. He was a member of the Trinity Church of God. Woody was a member of the Western Star Lodge #11 AF&AM of Guyandotte. He was a MARS Net coordinator and an amateur radio operator. In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by a sister Jessie Murvyne Booten and a brother William Ferrel Wilson. Survivors include two sons and daughters in law Thomas W. and Charlotte A. Wilson of Huntington and Dan P. and Carmen Wilson of East Lynn, WV; a daughter and son in law Barbara Ann and Gerald Simmons of Hurricane, WV; Eight grandchildren and their spouses Rebecca Jane and Rodney Parsons of Barboursville, WV, Sean A. Wilson of Huntington, Jason E. and Alice Roma of Huntington, John C. Parsley of Huntington, Tina Jo and Steve Larson of Loveland, Ohio, Nancy Ann Kelso of Colorado Springs, Co., Alicia Mae and Marty Martin of Hurricane, WV and Gerald Lee and Julie Simmons of Cincinnati, Ohio; eleven great grandchildren Shaphan Parsons, Noah Roma, Karolina Roma, Eathan Roma, Samantha Parsley, Rachel Parsley, Steven Larson, Wesley Larson, Adam Martin, Sarah Martin and Leah Martin; a brother and sister in law Howard Meryle and Bessie Wilson of Hendersonville, Tennessee; a brother in law James Otis Robinson of Huntington and several nieces and nephews. Sorry to learn of the passing of Uncle Woodrow. While the years and miles have separated us from each other, I was always proud of my W.Va. family and cousins. It was always a treat and pleasure to visit with Uncle woody and Aunt Isabelle. May you find the peace of God in this your time of sorrow and grieve.

We enjoyed visiting with Woody and Isabel several times on our way to Lowell with Mom and Meryle. He was a fine man and will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
