Lilian LILLIAN "Lil" JOHNSON HARPER HAGER, 89, of Huntington, W.Va., went home to be with her Lord, Monday, January 25, 2010, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington. Lil was a loving mother and grandmother, she was devoted to her son and grandchildren. She was born July 12, 1920, in Huntington, W.Va., a daughter of the late Shelvy and Callie Blair Johnson. She retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield with 26 years of service. She loved golf and sports. Lil was a member of the 2nd Presbyterian Church for 51 years, where she served as an elder, Sunday School teacher, treasurer and her special love, the Good Shepherd Food Pantry. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until service time Friday at the Reger Funeral Home. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold "Mike" Harper Sr., and her second husband, Glenn G. Hager; two sisters, Shirley Starkey and Fern McCoy and her brother, Shelvy "Sheb" Johnson. Survivors include one son, Harold "Mike" Harper Jr., and his wife Norma J. Harper; two grandchildren, Harold "Mike" Harper and his wife Donna Harper and Michelle Morgan and her husband Mark Morgan; four great-grandchildren, James Harper, Breanne Endicott, Rachel Endicott and Caleb Morgan; one niece, Sandra Skidmore; special friends Eileen Yeich and Frances Cammack, and a host of family and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Reger Funeral Chapel, Huntington, by her nephew, Pastor George Plantz. Entombment will follow in the Corridor of Faith at Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cabell Wayne Association of the Blind, or to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House.
