Joyce DeMerle JenkinsJoyce Demerlyn Jenkins of DeGraff, Ohio passed away at home on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 after months of struggle with illness and liver disease.

Joyce was born in Lima, Ohio, on January 17, 1937 to parents, Russell and Mary Ellen Nichols Wells. Joyce was the oldest of eight siblings. Three brothers; Harvey, Ronald and James and a sister Connie Kinnear preceded her in death. One brother, Russell "Butch" (Barb) of New York and two sisters; Sharon Ropp of Forest and Elba (M. Allan) Post of Bellefontaine, still survive.

Joyce was married to Donald E. Jenkins of Rushsylvania, on April 3, 1960 at Indian Lake Community Church. The couple has four children. A daughter, Deborah (Del) Jessee of Logansville, and three sons, Phillip of DeGraff, Carl (Kim) Jenkins of West Liberty, and Donald, Jr. at home in DeGraff; 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Joyce was a very concerned mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed her family and their dog Tootsie. Joyce liked to sew and enjoyed crocheting handmade gifts. She also enjoyed preserving seasonal fruits and vegetables.

The Rev. James R. Roby will conduct services at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, July 17, 2010 at Rexer-Riggin-Madden Funeral Home in DeGraff where the family will receive friends

for one hour prior to the funeral.

Burial will follow at Greenwood Union Cemetery, DeGraff.

Memorial contributions may be made to Universal Home Health and Hospice of Bellefontaine.

Condolences may be expressed to the family at 104 N. Koke St., DeGraff or at timeformemory.com/madden.
