MYRTLE NAPIER MAYO, loving mother and grandmother, 74, of Spring Valley, Huntington, W.Va passed away Sunday, August 29, 2010, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington. Myrtle was born November 18, 1935 at Ferguson Branch, Wayne County, W.Va. She is the daughter of the late Brady and Dovie Damron Napier. She is survived by her four loving daughters, Gerry (Ronnie) Thompson of Huntington, Tammy (James ) Votaw of Georgia, Bonnie (Jeff) Hamm of Kenova and Nola (Clifford) Jones of Georgia, son-in-law William Opachick; 13 grandchildren, Shane Phillips of Arizona, Nicholas Opachick, Dawn Opachick, Michelle Copley, Sherry Hall, Joshua Thompson of Huntington, Ashley Mattox, Bryan Hamm, Caleb Hamm of Kenova, Veronika Price, Wesley Jones, Bradley Jones, Cassie Jones of Georgia, and 12 great-grandchildren; five brothers, Paul (Frances) Napier, Glenn (Lynne) Napier, Roger (Brenda) Napier of Florida, James (June) Napier of Ohio, Carl (Debbie) Napier of Huntington; a host of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles and cousins. She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Jerry Mayo; two daughters Lorna Opachick, and Julia Ann Mayo. Pallbearers are grandsons and great-grandsons, Nick Opachick, Bryan Hamm, Caleb Hamm, Joshua Thompson, Wesley Jones, Bradley Jones, James Copley and Steven Price. and one honorary pallbearer, Shane Phillips of Arizona. One special friend Thurmond Rowe of Barboursville, W.Va. Visitation will be at Prince of Peace Church, Huntington, from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 31, 2010. The funeral service will take place at Prince of Peace Church, Huntington, at 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 1, 2010. Mrs. Mayo will be at the church by noon on Wednesday. Burial will follow at Dock's Creek Cemetery, Kenova, W.Va. In lieu of flowers, friends may consider a donation to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington.
