Ethel Lawson, 95, of Huntington, passed away on Monday, October 25, 2010 at her residence.

She was the widow of Drewry Lawson.

She was retired from St. Marys Hospital

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday October 28, 2010 at 2:00 pm at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Pastor Jerry Chapman. Burial will follow at Mount Vernon Cemetery.

Ethel was born on March 31, 1915 in Jamboree, KY the daughter of the late John and Sarah Whitt Layne

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her two sons; Carl and Argel Lawson. Six brothers: Frank, Earl, Donald, James, Jack and Walter and six sisters; Mary, Lizzie, Charity, Ida, Pricie and Marie and a granddaughter Anita Louise Ellis who looked upon her mawma as her hero.

She is survived by her son: Robert Lawson of Huntington, two daughters and son in law; Virginia Marcus of Conway, SC and Janet and Roger Hazelett of Huntington.

Four grandchildren: James A. Marcus Jr.of Conway, SC, Scott Hazelett and Amy Hazelett of Huntington and Tina Stover of Grennup,KY, Five great grandchildren: Amanda, Matthew, Andrea, Chris and Missy her loving care giver, four great great grandchildren; and adopted son; John Ritter of White Horse, Yukon, Canada, several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 1-2 pm Thursday at the Reger Funeral Home

Mrs. Lawson was a wonderful, generous lady who loved God and her family. I lived in the same apartment complex and she was always kind. I will greatly miss her and her hugs. My deepest sympathy to all of her family and I will keep you in my prayers.

BOB,VERY SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT ETHEL,I AM ALSO VERY SORRY I CANNOT ATTEND THE SERVICE,I SPENT A LOT OF TIME WITH HER IN MARCH WHEN DAD DIED, I REMEMBER SHE WANTED ME TO SLEEP WITH HER ONE NIGHT AND I DID,SHE HAD BROUGHT OLD PICTURES FOR ME TO COPY ,BUT I HAD TO LEAVE MY HUSBAND GOT SICK, MAY GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU LOVE, JACKIE SMITH - JACK LAYNES YOUNGEST DAUGHTER
