Sandra Sandee Franklin Click for Condolences      Printable Version
1957 - 2010

Sandra Sandee FranklinSandra L. Sandee Evans Franklin, of Milton, W.Va., was lovingly embraced

by our Heavenly Father on Friday, October 29, 2010 at the Emogene Dolin

Hospice House after a long and courageous battle with ovarian cancer.

Sandee was born September 6, 1957 in Huntington, West Virginia to Helen G.

Evans and the late William A. Evans. Sandee brought a special ray of

sunshine into the lives of others. She was a wonderful mother, daughter,

sister, grammie, and friend. Sandee devoted her life to her family. She

is survived by her mother, Helen G. Evans; her brother William J. Evans; her

daughter, Katherine G. Katie Denning and son-in-law Ben and their son Ben;

son Adam D. Franklin and his daughter Ryleigh Grace; daughter Jennie L.

Cummings and son-in-law Mel; nephew William J. Evans, Jr. and his wife

Elizabeth, and niece Nicole Gale Evans. Sandee is also survived by her

companion of twelve years, Joseph Dragovich, with whom she shared many

special times.

Sandee graduated with very high honors from Huntington East High School in

1975 and cum laude from Marshall University in 2001 with a counseling

degree. While attending Marshall University, Sandee met very dear friends,

Bonnie Bailey and Linda Bondurant. She was a lifelong member of Highlawn

Baptist Church and most recently attended First United Methodist and New

Life Church. Sandee was a fabulous stay at home mother. She gave her

children the gift of a marvelous childhood. For seventeen years, Sandee was

a devoted nursery worker at Highlawn Baptist Church. Sandee was a confident

leader and served as PTO president at Gallaher Elementary, led the Beverly

Hills Middle School air conditioning drive, and worked tirelessly for the

Huntington East High School Band Boosters. After graduating from Marshall in

2001, she became the Physician Recruiter at Huntington Internal Medicine

Group where she successfully brought many valuable physicians to the

Huntington area. In 2004, Sandee found her dream job as pharmaceutical

sales representative for Dey Phamaceuticals. As always, Sandee excelled and

in 2007 was Deys number one pharmaceutical representative in the United

States. She received multiple Presidents Cup Awards for her outstanding

work in pharmaceutical sales. Sandee enjoyed traveling and visited many

countries, including Israel, Greece, and various Carribean Islands. One of

her favorite places on earth was Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, where

she recently spent her last vacation. Sandee was adored by her family,

friends, and co-workers. Her loving and compassionate spirit will be

greatly missed but never forgotten.

The family wishes to express appreciation for the wonderful care provided to

Sandee by the Cabell Huntington Hospital Oncology nurses and staff, the

nurses and staff at the Emogene Dolin Hospice House, and her physicians, Dr.

Gerard Oakley and Dr. Linda Savory.

Sandee loved animals and was a loyal supporter of Little Victories Animal

Rescue. In lieu of flowers, Sandee requested that memorial contributions be

made to Little Victories Animal Rescue, P.O. Box 247, Barboursville, WV,

25504.

The family will gather and greet friends on Thursday, November 4th, at Fifth

Avenue Baptist Chapel at 10 a.m. A Celebration of Sandees life will follow

at 11 a.m. with Sandees lifelong friend, Reverend Jerry Chapman,

officiating. Reger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be

made to the family at www.timeformemory.com/reger.

Dear Franklin Family, I am so sorry to hear of Sandee's passing. I met Sandee in 2004 when we were hired at DEY, Pharma. Sandee and I formed a bond because we were the most senior in the group. I loved attending meetings and events knowing I would get to see Sandee. We enjoyed time together in the Cayman Islands together during a Presidents club trip. Sandee tried to connect about twice a month. I last spoke with her in April 2010. I left a messages on her cell phone maybe once in 2011 and this morning I tried to call her cell and the phone said it was not taking calls. It was then I did a search and found her obitiary. Sandee was a very strong woman and fought a tough and courage fight. She would tell me she fought for her family and grandkids. Sincerely, Susie Ericson

Hello, My name is Caleb and I am one of Jehovahs Witnesses. Im very sorry for the death that youve experienced in your family recently. Ive just been sharing a comforting scripture with you and similar individuals who have lost dear loved ones in death. John 11:25 says... "He that exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life." We agree with the bible when it says at Acts 24:15... that there will be a resurrection, of both the righteous and unrighteous. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.. please know that we are thinking of you and your family during this hardship. Thank you for your time, Sincerely, Caleb Aniol
