Bessie Mae Watkins, 78, of Quincy, died at 7:37 AM Saturday, February 12, 2011, at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Sidney.
She was born in Hardin County on September 8, 1932, a daughter of the late Harvey N. Sr. and Myrtle Legge Goings. She also was preceded in death by five brothers, Robert, Charles, Ronald, Mart and Ardel Goings; and a sister, Kathryn Cupps.
On March 25, 1950 she married Clyde R. Watkins in DeGraff and he survives, along with three sons, Rick (Cindy) Watkins and Tim (Bo) Watkins both of Quincy, Mark Watkins of Dayton; two daughters, Debra Watkins of Bellefontaine and Vicki (Conley) Bell of Sidney; three brothers, Tom Goings of Sidney, Junior (Sondra) Goings of Bellefontaine and Floyd (Connie) Goings of DeGraff; a sister, Sarah Young of Bellefontaine; 12 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
She was a homemaker who worked as a cook at Riverside Elementary for many years.
The Revs. LeRoy Hughes and John Shelton conduct a funeral at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at Rexer-Riggin-Madden Funeral Home, DeGraff, where visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, February 15, 2011. Burial is in the Greenwood-Union Cemetery, DeGraff.
