Charles Edward Schafer Click for Condolences      Printable Version 1925 - 2011 Charles Edward Schafer, 85, of Huntington, passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2011 at Cornerstone Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, June 27, 2011 at 11:00 am at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Pastor Jerry Matt. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Huntington. Charles was a retired sales man for Western Auto and a veteran of WWII having served in the US Navy Charles was born on December 1, 1925 in Huntington, WV, the son of the late Joseph and Cora Matthews Schafer. He is survived by his two sons; Charles V. and James A. Schafer and two daughters Deborah Schafer and Linda Shepard and two brothers; Joseph T. and James L. Schafer Friends may call from 4-6 pm Sunday, June 26, 2011 at the Reger Funeral Home Online condolences may be made to the family at www.timeformemory.com/reger

Charlie will be greatly missed by my family. He has been my mother's next door neighbor since we moved in the Summer 1969. For all those years, Charlie and my parents enjoyed neighborly chats across the back fence. It will seem very strange now that he has passed on to join his other family members in Heaven. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family left here on Earth.
