Carolyn N. Linet, 79, of De Graff, died at 11:06 AM Thursday, August 4, 2011, at Wilson Memorial Hospital,Sidney.
She was born on October 6, 1931, in Lima, a daughter of the late Leo Earl and Cretoria Francis Weaver Shields.
On August 31, 1958, she married Stanley Earl Linet in New Hampshire, and he preceded her in death on July 29, 1998. She was also preceded in death by a son, Anthony Eugene; a brother, Richard Shields and two sisters, Betty Helmlinger and Doris Shields.
Survivors include a Son, Jack (Pam) Linet of De Graff; four Daughters, Kathy (Rich) Fullerton of De Graff, Jean (Kevin) Bryie of Butler, IN, Nancy Jo (Tom) Beatty of De Graff, Karen (Mark) Morris/Foreman of Quincy; a Brother, Terry Shields of Truth or Consequenses, NM; two Sisters, Marjorie Burnfield of Buckland, and Twin Sister Marilyn Hengstler of Wapakoneta; sixteen Grand Children, Steven Linet, Crystal Fout, Bill Watkins, Jessica Partington, Megon, Jeremiah, and Dominic Goings, Heather Fullerton, Jaden Bryie, Victoria, Tony, and Stanley Beatty, Shelbie and Kylene Bailey, Tristan and Trevor Morris; and twenty two Great Grand Children.
She was a homemaker and member of Gretna Brethren Church, where she was active with the Gleaners WMS and also coordinated funeral dinners and Samaritan Purse for the church. She was also a member of Miami Grange and Red Hat Society both in De Graff, served at Daily Bread of Logan County, was a member of Buckeye Fun Bunch, and was active at American Legion Post 652 in De Graff where she made cole slaw, helped in other ways at their monthy fish fry's and coordinated rental of the Legion Hall. She was also a former 4-H adviser.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at the Gretna Brethren Church, Bellefontaine with Pastor Larry Brown officiating. The family will receive friends at the Rexer-Riggin-Madden Funeral Home in De Graff on Monday, August 8, 2011 from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial is in the Greenwood-Union Cemetery, DeGraff.
The family suggest memorial contributions be made to Daily Bread of Logan County or the charity of the donor's choice.
