Alan Lee BrunsAlan Lee Bruns, 58, of De Graff, died at 1:24 AM Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at Mary Rutan Hospital, Bellefontaine.

He was born March 4, 1953, in Bellevue, Nebraska, a son of the late John Henry Bruns and Shirley Ann Noakes Bruns.

On June 7, 1996, he married Thelma Carolyn Robinson in Bellefontaine and she survives along with his Mother of Beatrice, NE, four Sons; Travis (Beth) Bruns of New Britain, CT, Mason (Jessica) Bruns of Tuscumbia, AL, Christopher Smalley of Lakeview, and Jeffrey (Michelle) Smalley of Bellefontaine, two Daughters; Stacie Belt of Beatrice, NE and Tina Craig of Quincy, a Brother; David Bruns of Beatrice, NE and nine Grand Children; Kierra, Aidan, Karson, Kylie, Ashley, Tray, Brittany, Myisha and Jaela.

He was a graduate of Wlimington High School in Wilmington, OH; he studied Mechanical Engineering at South East Community College in Milford, OH and was an Engineer at Siemens.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 prior to a 12:00 P.M. service at Rexer-Riggin-Madden Funeral Home, DeGraff, with Pastor David Buchenroth officiating. Burial is in the Fairview Cemetery, Quincy.

The family suggest memorial contributions be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.

Al, Its hard to believe it has been two years since you have left this earth and have taken on the challenge in the next journey of our existence. Your positive guidance and outlook on life is dearly missed!! Your influence on all of us is everlasting..(remembering your belief in the "Principals of Reiki", I have now bettered my life). Until we meet again.

Carolyn, My prayers are with you and your family. I have so many fond memories of Al!! He was a very good man and I pray that he has found his peace.
