Huldah Mae Harpest, 85, of DeGraff, passed away at 7:10 AM Thursday, January 12, 2012, at Green Hills Center, West Liberty.
She was born in Bellefontaine on May 18, 1926, a daughter of the late Malcomb and Louisa Dear Cox.
On September 22, 1945, she married Floyd Therman Harpest in Covington, KY and he preceded her in death on February 26, 2006. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Frances Cox and two sisters, Margaret Vassar and Mary Roberts.
Survivors include two sons, Timothy (Sharon) Harpest of Bellefontaine and Samuel (Annette) Harpest of DeGraff; a daughter Barbara (Ron) Murray of DeGraff; seven grandchildren, David Richwine, Stacey Harpest, Jennifer Harpest, Emily Yelton, Holly Beiterman, Preston Adkins, and Adam Harpest; and 12 great-grandchildren.
A 1944 graduate of Bellefontaine High School, she was a homemaker and member of the DeGraff Freewill Baptist Church.
Pastor Mark Atterholt officiates a 2 p.m. service on Sunday, January 15, 2012 at the Rexer-Riggin-Madden Funeral Home in DeGraff, where visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2012. Burial is in the Huntsville Cemetery.
