Our family was saddened to hear of Mrs. Alford's passing. My mom thought of her often & we remember her fondly as one of our good neighbors on FM 711 for many years. Although we remember her from Perry Bros., we also remember when she used to run the small grocery store beside her home. My brother & I have fond memories of pulling our red wagon up the hill to the store, filled with empty soda bottles to cash in for change. There always seemed to be enough for some penny candy & perhaps even a new bottle of soda pop. I loved Mrs. Alford because she always let me go behind the candy case, open it & pick out what candy I wanted. That made me feel special. My first car was an old 1957 Chevy that my mom purchased from Mrs. Alford. It carried me all thru high school, to & from work at the Dairy Mart & served as a taxi for school friends & allowed me to spend more time with my grandmother. My young sister also drove it several years. I treasure those memories & will always be grateful to Mrs. Alford for being a part of them. She was a very sweet lady that we will always remember with love and kindness. Our deepest sympathies to all of her family.

Our deepest sympathy and prayers are with you all. Mrs. Alford was so sweet and kind to us when we worked with her in the late 60's at Perry Bros. We know heaven is sweeter with her presence. God bless and comfort you all and give you His peace.

Friends of our God, though they may pass away, will never be forsaken. All those asleep who in Gods memory stay, from death they will awaken. What beautiful words from a song to let us know that death is not final. We look forward to seeing our dear love ones again in the resurrection. Take comfort in the promise from the scriptures, (Job 14:13-15) Looking forward to that blessed time brings us hope; our hearts go out to you in this time of great sorrow

Donald and family, Wish we could be there for the services, but just can't make it at this time. Gladys leaves behind a treasure chest of family and memories. I always loved visiting with her and she always made you feel loved. She was funny and youthful, even in her later years. I know she will be greatly missed. Sue and Raymond Murray
