Laura Kay Waddell
FRANKLIN FURNACE-Laura Kay Waddell, 70, of Franklin Furnace, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth. Laura was born June 18, 1953 in Wayne County, WV to the late Arthur and Margaret Napier. Laura was employed as a waitress at the former Pop’s Place Restaurant in Wheelersburg and the former Golden Corral in New Boston. She was a member of Franklin Furnace Independent Baptist Church and the Huntington Eagles. In addition to her parents, Laura was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell “Jimmy” Philip Robinson; a son, Sam Arthur Robinson; two brothers, Archie Napier and Sonny Artis and her grandparents, Albert and Laura Napier who raised her. Laura is survived by her daughter, Scarlett Robinson, of NC; her aunt, Elenora Napier; sisters-in-law, Vangie (Danny) Endicott, Garnetta Chadwick and Shirley (Norman) Prey. Special friend Delores, whom she cared for, grandchildren, Devin and Destiny Burke and her faithful dog Queenie. Laura will be missed by many loving friends, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.
Graveside services for Laura will be at 2:30 pm Saturday, December 30, 2023 at Haverhill Cemetery. Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg has been entrusted with the arrangements. Condolences to the family may be made at www.harrison-pyles.com.
