Joyce Ann TyreeJoyce Ann Tyree, 72, of Oceana WV passed away Sunday June 29, 2008 at St. Mary's Medical Center. She was born September 18, 1935 in Laredo, WV, daughter of the late Thomas Harrison and Emily Jane Toler Bailey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Eric Tyree. She was a retired secretary from Wyoming County School System and was a member of Oceana High School Alumni Association and GFWC Oceana Womens Club. Joyce was an Elder, member of the session, choir director, and organist for Kopperston Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her loving sister, Barbara Wallace of Oceana, WV; two sons and daughters-in-law,Dr. Thomas and Cheryl Tyree of Huntington, WV and Terry and Penny Tyree of Kopperston, WV; four granddaughters, Traci (Leon) Agnew of Suwanee, GA, Tanya (Kyle) Sargent of Louisville, KY, and Jessica and Lindsey Tyree of Kopperston, WV; and three great grandchildren, Donivan and Jayln Agnew and Kyleigh Sargent. A memorial service will be held at Kopperston Presbyterian Church Saturday July 12, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kopperston Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, PO Box 24 Kopperston, WV 24854. Joy was a very important part of my life at the Kopperston Presbyterian Church as well as Kopperston Grade School. I will always remember her with a smile on her face and a willing hand to help. My thoughts and prayers are with you and know that Joy will always be watching over you.

Joy will be missed not only by her immediate family, but also by her "family" of classmates of 1953 OHS. We all grieve her absence, but are so blessed that she was such a part of our lives.
