Virginia Iris Smith, 89, of Proctorville, Ohio passed away Thursday May 14, 2009 at home. She was born September 25, 1919 in Cabell County, WV, daughter of the late Harold E. and Marie Hall Brooks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Reid Smith and son Thomas H. Smith. She was a member of Teresa Chapter #257 OES Proctorville. Virginia is survived by one son James R. Smith and his wife Alice; daughter Diane Sue Wilson of Huntington; daughter-in-law Sandy Smith of Proctorville; eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; two brothers Donald Brooks of Huntington, WV and Pat Brooks of Florida. A graveside service will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Saturday April 16, 2009 at Rome Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Hall Funeral Home Proctorville, Ohio is in charge of arrangements.
