Linda E. Burcham Click for Condolences      Printable Version
1941 - 2020

Linda E. BurchamLinda E Burcham, 79, of Proctorville, OH, moved to her heavenly home on Thursday, October 15, 2020. Linda was born in Huntington, WV on March 16, 1941, the daughter of the late Wade H Powers and Edith Mae Hayton Powers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Burcham; an infant sister, Phyllis; a sister, Janet Truesdell; and brothers, James Powers, Paul Powers, and Earl Powers. She is survived by a sister, Ruth Whitley; brothers, Keith Powers and Jerry Powers, all of Proctorville; her children, Thomas Boster, of Indianapolis, IN; Michael (Beth) Boster, of Proctorville; Pamela (Keith) McGuire, of South Point; Troy (Lisa) Boster of Proctorville; grandchildren, Whitney Streets (Daniel Murphy) of Chesapeake; Daniel Boster, of Huntington, WV; and Jared (Chelsie) Boster, of Proctorville; and great-grandchildren Liana Streets; Jasmine Murphy and Kingston Pickett. She leaves behind several cherished cousins whom she considered her best friends, loving nieces and nephews, friends, neighbors, and very special caregivers whom she loved.

If you knew Linda at all, you knew she was a dreamer and a free spirit her whole life. Her pursuit of happiness carried her away to Florida for several years as she followed the sunshine and the warm weather. Throughout her life, she was a seeker of inner peace; a struggler with the troubling hardships and the often-complicated relationships of life; and a follower of Jesus, expressing her deep and abiding faith often. Her interpretations of life were most vividly reflected in her several talents. She was an artist and an amateur photographer, capturing in her own style the images of the people she met and places she experienced. Throughout her life she created drawings, paintings, charcoal and chalk pastel images that somehow brought contentment. She loved various kinds of music. In her youth she played trumpet, she loved to sing, and she enjoyed dancing to the music. She loved to write poetry and captured in the written word the emotions she felt. All of her talents reflected her deepest inner thoughts and struggles and highlighted her love for her family, especially her grandbabies. She often told her children and grandchildren “I love you with all my heart, always have and always will.”

Throughout the past few years of medical issues, including her near-fatal stroke, her heart and kidney issues, and several other challenges, she courageously faced each with faith in her heart and determination in her mind. However, the earthly body grew weak and weary, and she resolved to say goodbye to each of us and to move into her new glorified body in the heavenly abode prepared especially for her.

If she could see and talk to all of her family right now she would tell you that she was not afraid and that she loved every one of you. Please find comfort in the kind thoughts and fond memories of the good deeds that Linda leaves behind.

The family is grateful to the staff at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington for the tender and loving care they provided to Mom and for their kindness to family as we said our goodbyes.

Anthony Thomas, New Hope UMC, will officiate the funeral service at 2 p.m. Monday, October 19, 2020 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio. Burial will be at the Miller Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held 1 to 2 p.m. on Monday, October 19, 2020 also at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed to the family at ehallfuneralhome.com
