Ronnie Joe Ellis, 57, of Crown City, Ohio known to friends as “Big Joe” passed away Thursday, October 22, 2020 in Pleasant Valley Hospital, Point Pleasant, WV. He was born January 1, 1963 in Huntington, WV. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Angela Ellis; his mother Bernice Ellis; three children, Joseph, Aleshia (Jeremy) and Christina Ellis; grandchildren Angela Mae, Joseph W. Ellis, Makayla Waugh, Shawna Waugh, Alyssa Waugh, Lyla Council, Cameron Ellis and Sophia all of Crown City, Ohio, and Sebastian Ellis of Gallipolis, Ohio; two great grandchildren Brennan Waugh and Mavrick Watson of Crown City, Ohio; brothers Randy (Kim) of Glenwood, WV, Johnny (Becky) of Crown City, Ohio and Greg of Rome, Ohio; sister Wendy Ellis of Crown City, Ohio; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald E. Ellis; a sister Melinda Ellis Montgomery; and daughter -in-law Jackie Ellis. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Council, Ronnie Montgomery, Jamie Green, Levi Ellis, Eli Ellis, Mitchell Waugh, Josh Counts and Ricki Johnson. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, October 25, 2020 at Swan Creek Cemetery, Crown City, Ohio. No visitation will be held.
