Carmen Alice Carte Blake, 88, of Proctorville, Ohio passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 3, 2021 in The Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, WV. She was born August 3, 1932 daughter of the late Gerald and Mildred Carte. She was a graduate of Marshall University with a degree in Education. She was married for 54 years to Marvin Blake who preceded her in death in 2012. She is survived by two children, Matthew Blake and Karen Blake Hamilton, and a granddaughter Taylor Waronicki, with whom she had a very special relationship. She was an elementary school teacher with the Chesapeake and Fairland School systems and retired from the Fairland School District where she was also a gifted program teacher and cheerleading coach. After retirement, she and Marvin spent many lovely winters in their Winter Haven, FL home. A private graveside service will be held at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, WV.
