Clovis Eugene Carpenter, 77, resident of Proctorville, OH, and husband of Ruth (Runyon) Carpenter for 57 years has gone home to be with Jesus on Thursday, September 23, 2021, after a short illness. He was born on September 25, 1943, in Proctorville, OH, son of the late Ernest and Clemie (Hayes) Carpenter. He was preceded in death by three sisters Lisa and Theresa Carpenter and Evelyn Joyce (Ed) Ferris; and one brother Nathaniel (Marlene) Carpenter. He leaves behind his wife Ruth and four children Tina (Steve) Tolliver of Summerton, SC, Mary Kirby (special friend Ray Bowen) of Cross Lanes, WV, Anne Marie (special friend Mark Cook) Carpenter of Nitro, WV, and Scott Carpenter of Cross Lanes, WV; four brothers Jay Carpenter of Tampa, FL, Jackie (Sue) Carpenter of Huntington, WV, Shelton Carpenter and Kenneth (Mary) Carpenter of Vinemont, Alabama; two sisters Charlotte Miller of Huntington, WV, and Beatrice Johnson of Tampa, FL; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and many friends. Family will receive friends from 10 A.M. to 12 P.M. Monday, September 27, 2021, at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, OH.
