1938 - 2024

Pedro JonesPedro Jones, 86, of Mooresville, NC, and formerly of Milton, WV, passed away on August 12, 2024.

Born on May 5, 1938, in Branchland, WV, to the late Ollie and Ola Mae (Ferguson) Jones, Pedro was a dedicated truck driver and a proud Teamster for over 45 years. He was passionate about dirt track racing and was a beloved member of the auto sports community. A man of faith, Pedro was a member of Cyrus Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Barboursville, WV. Above all, his greatest joy was found in spoiling his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Pedro was preceded in death by his six siblings: Madeline Combs, Daniel Jones, Kathleen Jones, Callie Jones, John Thomas Jones, and Frankie Jones.

Pedro is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Sharon (Ross) Jones, and their two cherished daughters, Beth (Matt) Jenkins of Milton, WV, and Becky (Marc) Plotkin of Mooresville, NC. He also leaves behind seven adoring grandchildren: Jenkies, Noah, Emily, Sam, Ansley, Ethan, and Aiden.

Friends are invited to share their memories of Pete on Saturday, August 24, 2024, from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Wallace Funeral Home in Barboursville. An intimate graveside service will follow at 4:30 p.m. at Green Valley Cemetery in Madison Creek, WV.

Pedro was grateful to have provided well for his family, but he often expressed concern for those less fortunate. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to FEED NC (Food Education Essentials Dignity of North Carolina) via: https://tinyurl.com/pedrojones.
