Larry B. “Pete” Ray, 75 of Barboursville, WV passed away on November 13, 2024.

Pete retired from the CSX Railroad in 2010. He was a US Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War, serving at Phu Cat AFB in 1969-70. Pete was an avid sports fan. You could find him watching or attending games, football being one of his favorites. He loved watching football while eating ice cream! He was a scholar of the Civil War, reading, studying and walking many battlefields. He loved his family, had a great sense of humor and had many laughs with his children, grand and great-grandchildren.

Pete is survived by his wife, Dreama Hall Ray; three sons: Brian (Dr. Tara) Hurricane, WV, Eric (Alice) Dubai, UAE, and Andrew, Huntington; brother Kenny (Janice) Ray, Brice, OH; sister-in-law Becky Clark (Buddy) and cousin and friend Justin Ray; his grandchildren, Kelsi (Corey) Beach, Ayden, Owen, Lillie, Attex, Isaiah, Elizabeth and Nicholas Ray; his great-grandchildren Aubrey Navy, Rowan, Charlotte and Cooper Beach.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents Amos and Lily Ray; his wife’s parents, Garland and Betty Hall; his brothers Tommy and Kyle Ray; and sister’s-in-law Carla Browing and Maribeth Hodges.

Celebration of Pete’s life will be held on Sunday, December 1, 2024 from 2:00pm - 3:30pm at The Venetian, Milton, WV. You are welcome to come and share your favorite memories of Pete.

Guka Pete as we called him was a lovely soul to be around. He was full of joy, love and life. I enjoyed every moment I got to spend with him and got to laugh a lot. His memories will live on and may His soul rest in perfect peace.
