
NANCY SUTPHIN, born on July 3, 1940, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2025 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Darrell Sutphin, and their son, Jody Darrell Sutphin. Nancy is survived by her sister, Sue Thornton, cherished children, Teresa Tate (Jack) and Rick Sutphin, along with her adoring grandchildren: Michael Ellis, Tristen Ellis, Kolby Sutphin, Logan Sutphin, Brianna Sutphin, and Deidra Gilkerson. She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren, Morgan, Conrad, Eli, Micah, and Noah who brought immense joy to her life. Together with her husband, Nancy owned Sutphin's Wood Toys, where they shared their passion for woodworking. They delighted in traveling to craft shows, sharing their beautiful creations with others. As a devoted member of New Life Church, she drew strength and inspiration from her faith and community. Nancy had a zest for life, especially when traveling with friends and making memories that she cherished. Known for her warmth and creativity, she will fondly be remembered for the love she shared with her family and friends. You could always find an open door and a hot meal at her home, embodying her welcoming spirit. Nancy's legacy of love, creativity, and kindness will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2025, at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville. Burial will be in Forest Memorial Park, Milton.
