1946 - 2025

Carroll Ray AdkinsCarroll Ray Adkins, 78, of Huntington, WV, went home to be with his Savior Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Son of the late Howard and Eunice (Lester) Adkins. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda (Watts) Adkins. They fell in love and married as teenagers and endured life’s challenges, heartaches, and blessings through 59 ½ years of marriage. He is also survived by his very loved son, Timothy Ray Adkins (Lisa) of Kitts Hill, Ohio and one grandson, Bryson Luke (Susanna) Adkins of Lugoff, SC; two brothers, Harold (Bonnie) Adkins and Homer Adkins; one sister, Connie (Kenny) Mount; two sisters-in-law, Sharon Adkins and Judy Adkins; and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by their son, Jodie Gwen Adkins (Baby Jodie); three brothers, Glen Gene, Darrell Lee, and infant Gwen Jay Adkins; one sister, Nora Evelyn (Adkins) Jones; and one sister-in-law, Vicki Lynn Adkins. He was a long time member of the Bethlehem United Baptist Church. He loved God, first and foremost and sharing his love of God and the Bible with others. Even in his last week of life, he was still witnessing his faith and God’s love to his nurse and a hospital maintenance employee for approximately two hours. Both employees expressed their gratitude and joy with the time they shared with him. He retired from Huntington Locomotive Shops. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to hunt and spending time at camp fishing with his brothers and friends and mentoring his grandson. There’s not enough Thank-You’s in the world to express for all the love, help and support from our wonderful friends and neighbors, Freddie and Debbie Tomblin. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 13, 2025, at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, by Pastor Jamie Clay and Rev. Garland Perry. Burial will be in Marion Adkins Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace.
