Gary Ross, 82, of Salt Rock, WV, went home to be with the Lord September 7, 2025 surrounded by his family at Cabell Huntington Hospital. He was born April 20, 1943, in Huntington, WV, the son of the late Ishmael and Eska Ross. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Robert “Bob” Ross. He is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Brenda Ross; two sons, Michael Ross and Jack (Nicole) Ross; two granddaughters, Candace (David) Rodes and Brittany (Tad) Martin; five great-grandchildren, Anderson, Archer, Theodore, Isla and Henry; one special brother-in-law, Denver (Shirley) Reynolds; and a host of friends.
Gary was a retired custodian for Cabell County Schools in which he served 44 years. He enjoyed hunting, camping, woodworking and spending time outdoors. He dearly loved his family and cherished every moment with his grandchildren. Gary was loved by everyone that knew him and will leave a void that can never be filled. He was a member of Salt Rock Community Church and loved spending time with his church family.
Funeral services will be Thursday, September 11, 2025 at 2 p.m. at Salt Rock Community Church. Burial will be in Enon Cemetery, Salt Rock. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 10, 2025 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville, and after 1 p.m. Thursday at the church.
