Archie “Pete” France Jr., 79, of Huntington, WV, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. He was born October 5, 1945 in Lawrence County, Ohio, a son of the late Archie France Sr. and Helen Elizabeth Kyle France. He was retired from Owens-Illinois and was a member of Salem United Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Orva Yvonne France, and two brothers, Charles Lee Adkins and Jerry Ray Adkins. He is survived by two daughters, Glenda (Gary) Hughes of South Point, Ohio and Brenda Gardner of South Point, Ohio; one son, Wayne (Shawna) France of Kentucky; two sisters, Betty Jane Grizzle and Kathy May Gallagher, both of Ironton, Ohio; five brothers, John Henry France of Wichita, Kansas, Gary Gene France of West Virginia, Benjamin France of Ironton, Ohio, Bobby Hamlin of Chesapeake, Ohio, and Jerry Hamlin of Ironton, Ohio; five grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. Graveside services will be conducted at 12:00 noon Friday, September 19, 2025 at the Morrison Cemetery with Pastor Jody Thompson officiating.
