Keith Paul Venoy, age 78, of Naperville, Illinois, passed away on December 15, 2025, surrounded by those who loved him.
Keith was born on December 6, 1947, in Barboursville, West Virginia, to Paul Venoy and Eltha Keenan.
He graduated from Huntington High School and went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Army, spending two years with the 82nd Airborne Division. After being honorably discharged, Keith began what would become a remarkable lifelong career with AT&T, working in research and development.
Keith often joked that he didn’t play with the toys — like iPhones — he made the toys work. Over the course of 50 years at AT&T, he helped shape the technology behind the scenes, retiring in 2016 after a career defined by dedication, intelligence, and quiet excellence.
For 53 years, Keith shared a devoted marriage with his wife, Brenda Venoy. Together, they moved to Cincinnati to raise their two children and build a loving home. Their life there was shaped by partnership, hard work, and a quiet devotion to one another that never wavered.
To his family, Keith was a man of few words but immense knowledge. He read hundreds of books on the Civil War and World War II and loved sharing stories and historical insights with anyone willing to listen. While thoughtful and reserved, he also had a silly side — occasionally breaking into made-up songs or dancing around the house to ABBA, much to the joy of those around him.
Keith is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Venoy; his son, Todd Venoy, and daughter-in-law Heather (Casto) Venoy; his daughter, Melissa Venoy, and son-in-law Matt Winter; and his cherished grandchildren, Hannah, Drew, and Oliver, who brought him immense pride and happiness.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 21, 2025 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Funeral services will take place on Monday, December 22, 2025 at 12 p.m. also at Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Burial will follow in Enon Cemetery, Salt Rock.
Keith will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, veteran, and lifelong learner — a man whose quiet presence, deep wisdom, and unexpected joy left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
