Alan Lee Tackett, 39, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026. He was a resident of Ashland, KY, born January 28, 1987, in Huntington, WV. He was preceded in death by his father Michael Alan Heaberlin, grandparents Larra “Jiggs” and Faye Walker, Von and Lucille Heaberlin, step grandparents William and Jackie Ball, Elwood and Barbara Gibbs, uncles Walter, Raymond and Johnny Walker, aunts Deborah Walker, Donna Willets and Yvonne Estep, nephews Nathanial Gue, Aaron Lafferty, and cousin Christopher Walker. He is survived by his mother Jennifer Ball and stepfather Mark Ball; sisters Michelle Gue (Travis), Natasha Spurlock (Andy), and Faith Ekers (Kevin); stepbrother Mark Ball II; nieces Maddey Gue, Ciera, Chasity, and Caylie Ekers; nephews Jonathon Gue, De Andre, Shaun, Hewitt, DeMetrius Dennis, and Aiden Ball; uncles Larry Walker (Sandy), Fred Walker, William II (Julie Ball), and Scott Ball, and Steve Heaberlin; aunts Janice Harmon and Jeanette Shafer (Norman). Alan’s life shined through his unwavering dedication and love for his family and friends. He shared his love of life with others through his skilled ability to create art in his carpentry craftsmanship with LNA construction, fishing, boating, hunting, camping, motorcycle riding, off road trips, building bon fires, creating art with etchings, drawings and paint proudly shared at the Huntington Art Museum. Alan completed ammunitions production training with Creedmore Sports and became an avid marksman. Alan’s life was a beautiful light full of natural energy, a supporting caretaker for everyone and a reminder to us all to remain humble and kind. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 19, 2026, at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Pastor Phil Fannin. Burial will be in Crimson Point Cemetery, Branchland, WV.
