Hershel "Buddy" Lee Marcum of Huntington, WV, passed away peacefully in the early morning on June 25, 2026, at the age of 77. He was born on October 11, 1948 in Huntington, WV to Hurston and Mary (Mullins) Marcum. He is survived by the love of his life, Gratus (Aldridge) Marcum of Mason, WV on May 27, 1984 and their two beloved dogs, Shorty and Doc. Buddy adored his family and is survived by his three children, Patricia Anne Schaffner, Shirley Lambert, Richard (Leesa) Marcum; his five grandchildren, Charles Philip (Emily) Schaffner, Cody (Darian) Marcum, Derek Lambert, Dylan (Sami) Marcum, and Garrett Lambert; his eight great-grandchildren, Rylee, Makynli, Connor, Colton, Chase, Grant, Ava, and Scotlynd.
He loved cars, motorcycles, gardening, caring for wildlife, and spending time with his family. He is so deeply missed already.
Visitation will be held at Wallace Funeral Home in Barboursville, WV on June 29, 2026 from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by a service at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Bowen Cemetery, Huntington. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace.
