John Darrell Hickman, 93 of Milton, WV, passed away Monday, June 29, 2026. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, July 3, 2026, at Chestnut Grove Baptist Church, by Pastor Mark Hesson and Pastor Chelcie Gibson. Burial will be in Hickman Cemetery. He worked for 27 years at Kerr Glass, was a retired farmer and a member and past trustee at Chestnut Grove Baptist Church. He was born January 17, 1933 in Milton, a son of the late Alva and Nellie Cooper Hickman. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Irene Smith, Harold Hickman, Gerald Hickman, Christine Sargent, Floyd (Jack) Hickman, Ellsworth Hickman and Dewey Hickman. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Phyllis Powers Hickman; sons and daughters-in-law, Darrell and Carolyn Hickman of Milton and Dwayne and Rhonda Hickman of Ona; sister, Arvena Gibson of Milton; brother, Elwood Hickman of Milton; grandchildren, Chris Hickman, Josh Hickman, Kristen Nichols (Seth) and Kyle McCallister (Lindsay); and six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be one hour before services Friday at the church. Wallace Funeral Home, Milton, is assisting the family with arrangements.
