I am 56 years old and I cannot remember my life without Truman in it. I have memories of my childhood as well as my adult life I will treasure for my lifetime. You All are family to me and I love each of you and feel your loss. Philippians 1 vs 3 says I thank my God of every rememberance of you. Truman was always so good to me as I grew up in Salt Rock. He always had such a good sense of humor. I know that both Lucella and Janice are glad to have Truman with them. Sorry I wasn't able to attend visitation.

truman and margaret was a big part of my childhood and my adult life. i love them. the whole family was part of my family. i believe they know how much they mean to me. truman and margaret infuenced my life in such a way that i am having a hard time writing this. so many good times together. i loved truman like a second father. i understand how you are feeling. glorjean and steve i love you both and i am here for at any time you might need to just talk or just be together. you all have my love and prayers. love sandi & family

Truman Sansom, 82 of Salt Rock, WV, passed away at his home on Sunday, February 15, 2009, to be in the presence of the Lord. He was born February 17, 1926 in Wayne County to the late Rev. Edgar and Ona Lester Sansom. Truman was preceded in death by three brothers, Hiram, Enslow and Erman Sansom; two sisters, Lucella Jobe and Janice Gibson and one grandson, Steven Seth Sansom. Truman was owner and operator of Keystone Gas Station, Salt Rock Saveway and Salt Rock Used Cars. He made many friends while operating these businesses. He was a current member of Salt Rock Methodist Church, and Hamlin Masonic Lodge # 79, Guyandotte # 10 R.A.M. and Scottish Rites. He was also a veteran of WWII having served in the US Army. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Margaret Thompson Sansom; three sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Linda Sansom of Huntington, Rick and Debbie Sansom of Ona, and Steve and Linda Sansom of Salt Rock; two daughters and sons-in-law, Bobbi and Chelcie Gibson of Huntington and Gloria and David Thompson of Salt Rock; one sister, Lucille Nelson of Salt Rock, and one brother, Ernie Sansom of Barboursville; fifteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Thursday, February 19, 2009 at the Wallace Funeral Home and Chapel, Barboursville, by Rev. Chelcie Gibson, Rev. Steven Issacs and Rev. Ray Adkins. Burial will be in Enon Cemetery, Salt Rock. Pallbearers will be the grandsons and Honorary pallbearers will be Audie Ramey, Andrew Ramey, CG McComas and Max Walters.
