Freddie Jarrell Wooten, 77, of Huntington, West Virginia, passed away on August 4, 2026.
Born on October 31, 1948, Freddie was the son of the late Ervin Wooten and Beatrice Adkins Wooten. He attended school in Cabell County and spent much of his career working in the automobile and transportation industries. After retirement, he enjoyed buying and selling cars and loafing at Ducky’s Auto Parts.
More than anything, Freddie loved his family. He is survived by his daughter, Claudia Wooten Edwards (Jay); his daughter, Cammie Wooten McCourt; and his son, Freddie Jarrell Wooten II. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Tessa Wooten Spaulding (William), Shon Mason McCourt, Madison McCourt, Alexandra Walker, Nicholas Edwards, Emma Wooten, Connor Wooten, and his great-grandchildren, Ronan Spaulding, Raiden Spaulding, Remus Spaulding, Malakai Boone, and Millie Arnold.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Aley J. Wooten.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 9, at Wallace Funeral Home in Barboursville, West Virginia. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the funeral service begins at 3 p.m. Burial will follow at Adkins Cemetery.

Freddie will be remembered for the love he had for his family and will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
