Sheila Gay Bias – Midkiff – Born February 7, 1948. Daughter of Verlin “Bob” Bias and Ruth Ann Deeds Bias of West Hamlin, WV, went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 5:45 p.m. on October 26th, 2026 after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease. She passed holding the hand of her loving and devoted husband of 59 years. Sheila was the Beautiful Bride of Lorrie Michael Midkiff of Salt Rock, WV. They were married in the fall of 1967 on November 22nd. She passed away in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was a Sunday School teacher at Upper Madison United Baptist Church where she held membership for nearly 60 years. Sheila had a deep passion for gardening, farming, her family, and of course her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Sheila worked many years at Floyd’s Fruits and Flowers, as well as being an elderly aid worker for In-Home Care. She retired years ago to enjoy her time with her family. Sheila had four children: three sons and one daughter. Gilbert Michael “Bud” Midkiff (Michelle), Thomas Wade “Todd” Midkiff (Angel), Rhonda Kelli Couch (William), Adam Denford “Denny” Midkiff. Sheila had 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was a mother and grandmother figure to so many other children in her lifetime. Sheila had one brother and three sisters: Ronald Cline Bias, Weasann Gibson (Willis), Alma Darlene “Cookie” Fulks (Lowell), Gloria N. Insco (Bucky). Some of Sheila’s favorite songs of faith were: “I’ll Fly Away”, “When I Get Where I’m Going”, “Lead Me Home”, and “Go Rest High On That Mountain”. Sheila had a great passion for life and living for the good. She often said “Some will give till it hurts, while others it hurts to give.” When asked how she felt about her illness and what a crippling state it was doing to her body she simply replied “I always lived my life for Christ, and wanted him to wring all the goodness out like you would an old rag”. Sheila lived out her life as a model of Christianity. She finished the race, and for her eternity to be with her loved ones that went before her forever in heaven. Amen.
