1947 - 2006
Alan Brice Cochran went to be with his Lord on Saturday, January 21, 2006 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on July 4, 1947 in Galveston, Texas. Alan is preceded in death by his parents Brice Cochran and Opal Berry Cochran. Alan served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam. He married Anita Snell on April 19, 1968. They spent most of their 37 years together in Pasadena, Texas where Alan was a pilot, flying instructor and later chemical pipe designer. They raised two children, Aaron Brice and Allison Beth. Alan retired in 2000 and he and Anita moved to their weekend getaway in Leakey, Texas. He was a seventh generation Texan and thought Texaas was the greatest place on Earth. He was a sportsman in his younger days and loved to hunt and fish but after moving to Leakey, Texas, he became a enviromentalist to the point of over feeding the deer during hunting season so the animals wouldn't leave. He fed all the animals on his ranch, from the hummingbirds to the beautiful Axis deer that he so dearly loved to watch from his porch. Alan loved carpentry, especially cabinet making, reading and being a gunsmith. He was a member of Saint Raymond's Catholic Church in Leakey, Texas.
Alan is survived by his wife Anita Snell Cochran of Leakey, Texas; son Aaron Cochean and partner Patrick Green of Houston, Texas; daughter Allison Cochran-Howard and husband Kurt Howard of San Antonio, Texas; granddaughters Alana Belle (his namesake), Amantha Bleue and Akaela Breanne Cochran- Howard all of San Antonio, Texas; mother in law Odessa Snell of Deer Park, Texas; brothers in law Greg Snell and wife Sharon of Pasadena, Texas and Eric Snell of La Porte, Texas; sisters in law Cissy Snell and Kim Brown bothe of Alvin, Texas; two nephews and one niece; and his best friend and companion "Sister". He also leaves behind many wonderful friends in Leakey, Texas. In his last days he made the family promise to tell all of Leakey, Texas how much he loved you and his time with you all. You were all part of his family and though he was ready to be with the Lord, he was sad to leave everyone including all his Leakey, Texas family.

Anita and family,
I regret that I missed the wake. I was out of town on business but I hope my son paid all due repects in my sted. Your loss is great of a man that I deeply admired. From the day I met Alan I knew he was a special person. He loved life. The things that he did, the stories that he told, our trips to junk yards, gun shows we went to, riding to work with him, all these things was an adventure for me and I will cherish it all and still the memories are ever present with me. My wife and I send our deepest sympathies.
Doug

I only met Alan 4 short years ago through his daughter Allison. But, in my few visits with him and his lovely wife I gained much admiration and respect for him. I thought of him as the epitome of what a "Father" should be. He was warm, loving, generous and had the best sense of humor. Allison and Aaron are lucky to have had such a wonderful "Daddy." My heart goes out to you Anita and may you find comfort in knowing Alan now walks with the Lord. I wish only that I could be there to offer my support and love. I love you all as my second family. Love, Cynthia
