
Julius Whiteney Boykin at the age of 89 passed away Thursday, January 26, 2006 at his home in Kerrville, Texas. He was born on June 27, 1916 in Winona, Texas to Julius W. Boykin and Annie Finley Boykin. Julius served in the U.S. Army as a sgt. during World War II as a aerial engineer and was presented the Distinguished Flying Cross for aiding the pilot of a B-24 to safely land the plane after being shot full of holes and with one landing gear, therefore saving the crew. He married Twila Stafford who he knew for 21 years in May of 2000 in Kerrville, Texas. Julius retired as a employee of the U.S. Government as an Accountant for the Civile Service Commission serving the Veteran's Administration. He was a 50 year Mason of Lodge No. 92, AF&AM, Waco, Texas
He is preceded in death by his parnets Juolius Sr and Annie Boykin.
Julius is survived by his wife Twila Boykin of Kerrville, Texas, 4 stepchildren Tara McBride and husband Kevin of Kerrville, Texas, Bradley Moore of Ohio, Alex Polen of Florida, and Perry Penny of New York; 5 step grandchildren and many of family members and friends who love him will miss him.
Military Honor graveside services will be held 1pm, Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2006 at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA.
