I read in the Paducah Post of Vanita's passing. I'm so sorry to hear it. Vanita hired me for my first court reporting job back in '79. I worked with her on Lamar St in '79 and '80. She taught me a lot! She expected no less than perfect. She was very proud of her profession. She opened her home to me until I found an apartment. She even pulled a few strings to get me an apartment since I moved there shortly after the WF tornado and there were waiting lists for housing everywhere. She even told me we were related through the Goodgames. My great grandmother was a Goodgame and my grandmother fed and opened her home for Julia's family during her funeral in Paducah. Last I saw Vanita was at a Paducah All School reunion. She always talked about Paducah so much. I'm forever grateful to the experience she provided me and will never forget her.
