James Marsh Allen at the age of 85 passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2006 at the Kerrville, Texas Veterans Hospital. He was born on May 18, 1921 in Marshall, Michigan to Frank Allen and Mamie Smith Allen. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1942 till 1944. James married Lucille Graham Maples in May of 1974 in Hunt, Texas. He worked as a Police officer in Evanston, Illinois for 21 years before he retired. James was a member of the VAV. After moving to Kerrville he worked for Hunt ISD and Kerrville ISD as a bus driver and then for Tex Pack Basse as a freight driver. He is preceded in death by his parents Frank & Mamie Allen, sister Dorothy Guarnieir, and son Hugh Allen.
James is survived by his wife of 32 years Lucille Allen of Kerrville, Texas; son Jeffery Rhodes of San Francisco, CA.; daughter Cindy Allen and husband Michael of Tempe, AZ; step son Mike Maples and wife Lisa of Harper, Texas; step daughter Sharon Laning and husband Bill of Kerrville, Texas; 5 step grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren and many other family members and friends who love him will miss him.
Memorial services will be held 11am, Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at Wright's Funeral Parlor in Kerrville, Texas with Pastor Pierce officiating and with full Military Honors.
