Melvin Kott at the age of 72 passed away on Sunday, March 4, 2007 at his daughter's home in Kerrville, Texas. He was born on July 26, 1934 in Fredericksburg, Texas to Hilmar Kott and Ida Grona Kott. Melvin graduated from Tivy High School. He was a plumber in the Kerrville area. Melvin was a member of Southern Oaks Baptist Church in Kerrville. He is preceded in death by his parents Hilmar & Ida Kott, brother Dayton, and sisters Mildred, Verde and Janie. Melvin is survived by his children Deborah and husband Hal Poorman, Mel Kott and wife Jeannie and Mark Kott all of Kerrville, Texas; brother James Kott of Richardson, Texas; sisters Irene Pearson and husband Fred and Myrtle Wood both of Kerrville, Texas; 15 grandchildren Hank Poorman, Jackie Poorman, Jason Poorman, Nicole Poorman, Daniel Poorman, Larissa Poorman, Walter Poorman, Corina Poorman, Llaneli Poorman, Maria Poorman, Trisha Adkins, Karl Adkins, Buck Kott, Greg Grinnan and Scott Kott; 6 great grandchildren Kayla Poorman, Haylee Poorman, Dylan Poorman, Tyler Poorman, Ashleigh Morse and Kody Adkins; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other family members and friends who love him will miss him. Memorial services will be held 12 noon, Thursday, March 8, 2007 at Southern Oaks Baptist Church in Kerrville, Texas with Pastor Joe Taylor officiating the services a reception will follow. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Southern Oaks Baptist Church (122 Valley View Kerrville, TX. 78028).
