
Joe Maurice Morgan at the age of 91 went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at a Kerrville, Texas care center. He was born on Nov. 7, 1915 in Alamogordo, New Mexico to Maurice R. Morgan and Veronah Burns Morgan. Joe married Jenibel Gallaher on December 25, 1936 in New Mexico. He retired from Mountain State Telephone Company after 37 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ingram, he was a trustee, treasurer, choir director, V.B.S. snow cones and Music System. He was a member of Eastern Star, Masonic Lodge in New Mexico, Barbershop Quartet, Boy Scouts of America. Joe was a jewelry maker, silversmith, musician (guitar, piano, harmonica), ham radio operator, choir, square dancing caller, an artist and avid painter, fisherman and a hunter. He is preceded in death by his parents Maurice and Verona Morgan, sister Reverend Carolyn Morgan.
Joe is survived by his wife of 70 years Jenibel Morgan of Ingram, Texas; 2 daughters Jenette Jo Camp and husband Curtis and Charlene Jo Rodgers and husband Robert (Bob) both of New Mexico; brother Rev. John R. Morgan and wife Audrey of El Paso, Texas; sister Martha Richardson of Oregon; 6 grandchildren Eddie Peck and wife Cindy of Santa Fe, NM, Greg Peck and wife Susan of Questa, NM., Mark Peck and wife Christine of Santa Fe, NM., Stacie Rae of Ingram, TX., Brian Camp of Albuquerque, NM., and Wendy Bare of Ingram, TX.; 5 great grandchildren Kristy Lee Peck of Lubbock, TX., Lily Rose Peck of New York, NY., Christopher Peck of Santa Fe, NM., Brandon Rae of Houston, TX., Brady Rae and Benjamin Rae both of Ingram, TX., Tyler Camp of Albuquerque, NM., Amanda Stanley of San Antonio, TX., and many other family members and friends who love him will miss him.
Memorial Services will be held 11 am, Thursday, June 14, 2007 at Ingram First Baptist Church in Ingram, TX., with Chaplain Steve Doss and Frankie Enloe officiating the services with a DVD slide show at the end of the services.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Alzheimer's Assoc. or Sid Peterson Hospice of Kerrville, TX.
