A Memorial to my Grandfather 5/11/1938 - 8/29/2007 How do I sum up this man’s life? Grandpa was so much more than just a name and date on paper. He was something to a lot of people. James William Wolverton was born on May 11th, 1938 in a Missouri town called Bragg City. He was the first child of Noah & Pauline. He grew up with three siblings: Walter, Novella, and Joe. Grandpa’s parents and his brother Walter preceded him in death. On June 10th 1959 he married Mary Appleton. They had four children together: Regina, Rhonda, Joe, and Jimmy. As some people do, Grandpa and Grandma went their separate ways. Although they did stay friends, always knowing what was going on in each others lives. Grandpa married again on August 23rd 1974 to Martha Gene Farris. They had a child together named Gail. Martha Gene was with grandpa till the end of his time on earth. Grandpa is survived by his sister Novella, his brother Joe, Mary, Martha Gene, all his children, twelve grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. August 29th 2007 will be marked down as a happy and sad day for all that knew my grandpa, Bill Wolverton. On that morning, in a small Texas town called Comfort, he let his Angel lead him home to our Heavenly Father. He was able to join all the ones that had left before him. I can see him, in my minds eye, with Great Grandma Appleton. She would smile at him and tell him he can now help watch over our family. This makes me very happy to know that Grandpa is watching over me. I am still sad to see him go, but I know I will see him again when I follow my Angel home.
