1928 - 2007

Lester Pinky MeggernbergLester J. (Pinky) Meggenberg at the age of 79 went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at a Kerrville, Texas at a local care center. He was born on April 23, 1928 in Sylvia, Kansas to Lester C. Meggenberg and Grace Mae (Stiggens) Meggenberg. Pinky served in the US Navy from 1945-1974 then went to work as a computer analysis. Pinky married Virginia Soape on Sept. 1, 1961 in Port Lavaca, Texas. He was a member of Hunt Baptist Church and now they started going to the First Baptist Church, Kerrville. Pinky was a hard working man, helped many get jobs and did all that he could for his family. He was a Christian; always believed that if God closed one door in your life that he would open another door that would lead to greater things and bring new people into your life. Pinky followed God even when it looked hard and very dark with Virginia following right beside him with a smile and a song in her heart. Pinky was a great and giving man who we know is with Jesus today and we will see him in heaven again. He is preceded in death by his parents. Pinky is survived by his wife of 46 years Virginia Meggenberg of Kerrville, Texas; son Bill Meggenberg and wife Susan of Kansas; 4 daughters Sue Ann Bond of OK, Donna Gayle Stotts and husband Stephen of Texas, Shelly Kay Drew and husband Phillip of Washington and Stacie Lea Matson and husband Craig of Texas; sister Phyllis Hunter of Texas; 12 grandchildren and many other family members and friends who loved him will miss him. Just to let you know all of you are in our prayers. It is such an empty feeling to lose a Dad. Just try to fill it with memories. Virgina - I pray you are doing OK and will lean on your girls for strength! Love, Glenna
