Dear Mrs.Bowen, I was very sad to read that your father is no longer. He and I had both engineering degrees relating to water conservation and served together on the board of the Headwaters Groundwater Conservation District. We became friends and together designed a plan for describing the groundwater resources of Kerr County with modern methods. Eventually, this was adopted and gave useful results. I believe I met you once at Don's home, where I have been many times and enjoyed the company of Don and Dorothy. I read about the memorial service too late to be present and can only in this way offer you my sincere condolences. Cornelius van Bavel

I served with Don on the Headwaters Board. He was a dedicated director who did his homework and worked hard to insure that Kerr County residents would have good quality groundwater. Susan Sander

Dear Family, I visited Don not long ago at his assisted living apt. and we had a very nice conversation and a glass of sherry. He was such a gentleman and scholar-very intelligent. He volunteered for several years at the reference desk at the public library when I was a reference librarian. We talked daily and I got to know him and Dorothy-we love camping and traveling like they did. They were a happy couple. It was a pleasure to know them both. Our sincere sympathy on Don's passing. Sherry and Delmar Hiller, Hunt, Texas
